Safeguarding Our Children Spiritually

“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8Despite this warning, many parents have fallen asleep, leaving the doors of our homes open to the enemy’s presence and our families vulnerable to his attack. We have failed to recognize the schemes and lies the enemy has introduced to our families and churches. As he did with the Israelite nation, the evil one seeks to entice us in the same realms: rebellion, which is like the sin of witchcraft; and arrogance, which is like the sin of idolatry. As a result, we and our children have fallen prey. Sprinkled with biblical narratives and truths, culturally relevant situations, and the author’s own personal experiences and anecdotes, this book challenges us to re-evaluate many culturally accepted beliefs and behaviours that we, as Christian families and churches, have passively embraced.
